COMPTON FIRE DEPARTMENT NON-EMERGENCY SERVICES
In addition to emergency services, the Fire Department also provides the following non-emergency services:
Blood Pressure Screenings
Free blood pressure screenings are provided at all fire stations on a walk-in basis.
The Fire Explorers Program
This program introduces young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21 to the potential rewards of a career in the fire service.
The James Shern Fire Academy
The Academy, located at Station 3, offers an accredited program of Firefighter Training, in association with Fire Science courses offered at El Camino Compton Education Center.
The Reserve Firefighter Program
This program provides individuals who have completed Fire-fighter Training at an accredited fire academy the opportunity for additional on-the-job training and preparation for a career in the fire service.
