Documents Required to Obtain Permits

OWNER
Proper ID verification through deed, tax bill, etc.
CONTRACTOR
California State License Identification. Proof of worker compensation insurance. City of Compton Business License.
AGENT
Any person signing on behalf of owner and/or contractor must have a notarized statement from owner. Original documents are required.

 

PERMIT APPLICANTS

OWNER
Building permits can be issued to the legal owner of the property for projects that involve a duplex or single family residence only.
CONTRACTOR
California State License Number.
AGENT
Any person signing on behalf of owner and/or contractor.

 

PLAN REVIEW

RESIDENTIAL COMMERCIAL or INDUSTRIAL
When requesting a building permit, the applicant must submit drawings and specifications (plans) verifying compliance with applicable building codes. Verification by applicable departments (Water Department, Fire Department, Planning and Economic Development Department, etc.) is required for the proposed work. Some small projects may also require submittal of plans. Please contact the Building and Safety Department to obtain requirements for specific projects.
