Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP)

ABOUT NSP

In 2008, the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (“NSP”) was enacted by the United States Legislature as part of the Housing Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (Pub. L. 110-289, Approved July 30, 2008) to aid with the housing foreclosure crisis which affected communities across the United States. As a result of the availability of this funding, the City of Compton was awarded NSP funds to acquire foreclosed homes, rehabilitate and finally resell the homes to low to moderate income families.
