DIAL-A-RIDE

This program provides a curb to curb, shared ride service for senior citizens 60 years of age or older and eligible handicapped persons. Service is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as part of a demand response system. There is no service on City holidays.

It is designed to assist in transporting seniors and handicapped persons to medical appointments, banking, post office, nutrition, shopping, paying utilities, recreation activities, school, employment, social services and other locations within the City boundaries.

Cost of transportation is 25 cents per round trip. All passengers must be registered at the Dollarhide Center which is located at 1108 N. Oleander Ave., Compton. Verification of age and residency is required at the time of registration. Handicapped persons must be at least 21 years and will be required to show medical proof of their disability from a licensed physician.

The service area is the Compton City limits, however, a limited amount of service is available for medical appointments (pre-scheduled) to Kaiser/Bellflower, Kaiser/Harbor City, St. Francis Hospital, Harbor & Martin Luther King General Hospital. MTA BUS PASSES

This is a City subsidized program for the MTA Metro & Bus Lines. Senior Citizens 62 years of age and older may purchase Monthly Bus Passes for $5.00. Verification of age and residency will be required at time of registration. Disabled persons with pass can purchase it from us also. They are sold from 9:00 a.m.- 11:30 p.m.
