Camp is Partner of Compton’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative

RUNNING SPRINGS, CA – The summer got off to a great start for 60 Compton youth who spent a weekend enjoying fresh air, exercise and making new friendships as participants in the Compton My Brother’s Keeper Initiative MenTouring Summer Camp.

A three-day event which fostered self awareness and the meaning of manhood for junior high school boys, the MenTouring Camp supports the City of Compton and Mayor Aja Brown’s acceptance of President Barrack Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper Challenge”.

Boys in sixth through eighth grade were treated to a stimulating weekend of swimming, zip lining, mountain biking with the San Bernardino Mountains as the backdrop while being mentored on the basic fundamentals of responsibility, accountability, leadership, team work and education.

The camp was presented by Urban Vision.
