Blue Line Improvements Begin on January 26, 2019Plan Ahead!

The New Blue Improvements Project is a $350 million investment to improve safety, increase reliability, and enhance your customer experience. Due to a series of state of good repair and capital improvements, the Blue Line will need to be closed for two extended four-month closures starting with the southern segment in late January.

During the southern segment closure, the Blue Line will be out of service from the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station to the end of the line, beginning at 4 am Saturday, January 26, 2019 to the end of May. During these closures, Metro is providing three levels of bus shuttle service  to replace rail service, see below for more information. Additionally, rail service will be maintained between 7th St/Metro Center and 103rd St/Watts Towers Station. Plan ahead and allow extra time! Rail safety ambassadors will be on site to provide details and answer questions.
