City of Compton’s Cooling Center Opening Today and Saturday as Temperatures Rise Across the Southland
Cooling center to provide residents without home air conditioning relief from the heat
Compton, Calif. – August 14, 2020 – Today, August 14, 2020, the City of Compton will open an Emergency Cooling Center to residents in need of relief from the heat at the Dollarhide Community Center from 12pm to 7pm as well as tomorrow from 12pm to 7pm.

SAFETY RULES AND PROCEDURES
Los Angeles County Emergency Cooling Centers
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, or difficulty breathing), entry not allowed.
- All visitors and staff must wear a face covering at all times.
- Hand sanitizer, soap/water or disinfectant are available to all visitors and staff.
- All high-contact areas inside are cleaned and disinfected according to guidance provided by the Center for Disease Control.
- All visitors and staff must practice physical distancing at all times - keep at least 6 feet away from one another. Family members arriving from the same household are exempt from this rule.
- Staff may limit the number of visitors inside at any time to maintain physical distancing.
