City of Compton Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
The City of Compton is proud to join the nation in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, honoring the history, culture, and contributions of our Hispanic and Latino community. This month is a time to recognize the vital role Hispanic residents, families, and businesses play in shaping the vibrant identity of our city.
Compton’s Hispanic and Latino community have been an essential part of the city’s growth and success. From entrepreneurship and cultural traditions to leadership and civic engagement, the contributions of Latino residents continue to strengthen and inspire Compton.
During the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 9, Mayor Emma Sharif announced a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. The event was held on Saturday, October 4 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the MLK Monument at City Hall (205 S Willowbrook Ave.) The community was invited to come together for a day of cultural appreciation, unity, and recognition of the positive impact of Hispanic and Latino heritage.
The City of Compton looks forward to honoring Hispanic Heritage Month alongside our residents and encourages everyone to participate in the events and celebrations taking place.
