Annual National Night Out Continues to Promote Community-Police Partnerships

City of Compton joins annual community-building campaign 

COMPTON, CA – The City of Compton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and TARGET will partner once again on the annual crime and drug prevention event National Night Out. On Tuesday, August 2, Compton residents and businesses will gather together from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Gateway Town Center’s TARGET store (1621 S. Alameda Ave.) to send a unified message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Compton will join over 12,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world who will come together to reinforce crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts and strengthen police and community partnerships. The National Association of Town Watch sponsors National Night Out nationwide.
